If you’ve just had a c section or about to have one, this is the product list you should know about for your best recovery.

After a c section you’re going to want to help the reduce the pain and encourage healing. It has been found that using an abdominal binder (like the belly bands you’re more familiar with) can be an effective non-pharmacological and simple tool in relieving pain(1).

However, with so many options out there it’s hard to know what the best one would be for you. That’s why we’ve come up with this list to make the process of choosing the right one easy!

This post is all about belly band after c section and the products you should know about.

Belly Band After C Section

1. Belly Bandit – C Section and Recovery Undies ($114.95)

belly band after c sectionWith the clasp front attachments, this belly band is very different to the ones you might be used to seeing. If the idea of clipping on your garment seems like it’ll be easiest,  this is the one for you.

Belly Bandit claims it:

  • is easy to pull-on
  • is made from moisture-wicking, breathable fabric helps keep you cool
  • can also be used after natural delivery
  • and is designed with two compression zones for your specific recovery needs

2. Belly Bands – Pregnancy & C-Section 3-in-1 Belly Band ($89)

For your all-in-one support this band from ‘Belly Bands’ is your go to. It’s many uses makes it extra affordable so it can last you through pregnancy and in your postpartum recovery- whether that’s after a c section or vaginal delivery.

‘Belly Bands’ says “this simple piece of equipment can help reduce post-op pain, protect incisions, and make it easier for new mothers to take care of themselves and their babies”.

Be mindful that you should make sure you’re choosing a product for your specific need rather than picking it for the qualities it has that you don’t need.

3. Mamaway – Postpartum Belly Band ($150.38)

This band is designed specifically for postpartum recovery and the issues that you may have in this time- back pain, c section recovery and ab separation management.

Unlike other bands this one is bone-free making it more flexible but support and comfortable to wear making it easier to sleep in.

Something to consider, as always, is cost. As you can see this band is on the pricey-er end of the scale when it comes to belly bands.

4. Frida Mom – C Section Recovery Band ($39.99)

This recovery band is unlike the other belly bands- this one is targeted at protecting your incision using a bumper and reusable hot and cold packs to relieve cramping, swelling, soreness, and inflammation.

This might be the best option for you if incision protection is what you’re looking for. No need to fuss with the bigger belly bands if you can use this instead.

Be mindful though that it means it won’t help with managing abdominal separation. If you’re wanting a band that does this too- you’re better off going with one the above options!

5. Kin – C Section Recovery Kit ($179)

For the ultimate c section recovery all-in-one kit- you’re going to want this set from Kin. Conveniently packaged all together, this kit can make recovery that bit easier.

The kit includes:

  • The Peri Bottle
  • 8x Mesh Panties
  • The Nourishing Cream
  • The Belly Band
  • The Postnatal Vitamin
